This mission is a tale of (at least) 2 significant American qualities.
1. It was the third mission to the moon, and many people had become bored; it did not get the same attention from the public as earlier NASA flights.
2. The unexpected occurred, and because of courage, persistence, ingenuity, expertise and the ability to think out of the box, the three astronauts came back to Earth safely.
What does this have to do with wellness?
1. Our bodies are miraculous machines, but do require attention- they need to be given the right building blocks and environment to thrive. Too many people have become complacent, listening to advertising, eating processed foods, etc, and surrendering personal responsibility for a robust healthspan.
2. Many people who advocate for wellness using lifestyle and other non pharmaceutically based approaches are considered dangerous, or foolish.
"Houston we have a problem"---
The Apollo 13 mission got our attention when catastrophe struck, and we were captivated by the drama .
We have a health crisis today.
We also have solutions that are right here- right now.
Carpe diem- like the Apollo 13 ground and flight crew.
Lead your own health team.

Thanksgiving Day has so many special aspects that highlight how much we have to be grateful for. You get to pick your focus- family, friends, football, feast, foliage and so much more. It is easy to get swept up in the planning, or to feel sadness if something from the past is no more- Taking a few moments to get quiet, and focus on what is going right can turn that around.
