The four days that mark the movements of the earth around the sun provide a great time to reflect. The Solstice are December 21 and June 21- the longest night and longest day. The Equinox are September 21 and March 21- the days and nights are equal.
Without our help, the earth keeps moving, and it's movements impact our lives, whether we notice it or not.
In the far north, the summer solstice is the peak of long days, and may be celebrated for plentiful daylight (and sometimes sunshine, sometimes rain). OR- you could focus on if today is the longest day, the following days will be shorter and shorter until December when the cycle starts all over.
We have choices:
what do we notice about the marvels of the earth?
how do we think about changes, and what difference does it make to our mood and attitude?
Today is good day to pause and consider this.
Take the time to nurture relationships and establish new ones. It's easy to let time slip by and lose touch.. We support our communities and they support us
Nature follows cycles whether we are watching or not. These salmon know where they are going. I invite you to sit mindfully with them , and if you wish, share what that is like.
